Building Dreams, Breaking Barriers

A Quarter of Unprecedented Impact at DBA Africa

At DBA Africa, we have always believed that sports are a powerful catalyst for transforming lives, uniting communities, and unleashing the boundless potential of African talent. This past quarter has been a living testament to that vision. Through international collaborations, gritty athletic milestones, and prestigious recognition, we have deepened our roots.

Here is a look at the moments and the people that defined our journey this quarter.

2026 Academy of the Year

We are deeply honoured to share that DBA Africa was named Academy of the Year at the 2026 African Global Awards.

This milestone is a profound validation of our team’s dedication and our core mission: to provide world-class opportunities for young athletes across the continent. This award represents a sacred trust. It fuels our commitment to keep expanding our reach and raising the bar for sports development in Africa.

Nurturing the Next Generation of Champions

Our belief in raw talent is backed by action. This quarter, our athletes took to the tracks and fields with incredible heart:

  • Pounding the Pavement: We were proud to support 15 athletes at the Eldoret City Marathon and 9 at the Nairobi City Marathon (with 2 runners finishing Top 10 and earning themselves a combined 525,000 Ksh). Our community spirit was also on full display at the GL5KM, where a record-breaking 52 runners represented the DBA family.
  • Chasing Greatness: Believing in individual dreams is at the core of what we do. This quarter, we sponsored Daniel Kibiwott’s entry in the gruelling Lewa Marathon, where he delivered an exceptional performance, finishing 6th overall.
  • Rising Rugby Stars: Our U15 rugby team put on a masterclass in grit and teamwork, fighting their way to a stellar runner-up finish at the 2026 Turi 7s tournament.

Global Partnerships, Local Impact

True, sustainable impact is never achieved alone. Over the last few months, we bridged global expertise with local passion to create unforgettable growth opportunities for our youth:

Inspiring New Perspectives

We had the privilege of welcoming Nick Williams, Head of Rugby at Bryanston, to Kenya. His time with us was instrumental in elevating our outreach plus youth & coach rugby development structures.

Learning from the Best

The reigning Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup champions, Kabras RFC, visited our Nairobi Academy. Our young players had the invaluable opportunity to train alongside their heroes, absorbing not just technical skills, but the mindset of champions.

Empowerment Beyond Borders

In a beautiful collaboration with the Australian High Commission, we hosted the 'Matildas' community outreach programme alongside the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy, using football to inspire, empower, and bring joy to young women in the community.

Standing by Our Icons

A thriving sports ecosystem requires holistic support. We believe in lifting up our athletes at every stage of their journey.

This quarter, we were privileged to host a dedicated merchandise stand at tennis star Angella Okutoyi’s farewell event before she relocated to the UK to start her professional career. All proceeds from the sales went directly toward backing her career and funding her future endeavours as she continues to fly the Kenyan flag high on the global stage.
