DBA Africa 2026 Activities Snapshot
A Year of Impact: DBA Africa’s Vision for 2026
At DBA Africa, the start of a new year isn't just a change of the calendar, it is a starter for many. Building on the momentum of previous successes, we are stepping into 2026 with a renewed commitment to our athletes, coaches, and the communities we serve, our mission remains clear, to propel young talent to greater heights through sporting opportunities.
A Growing Network of Excellence
Our impact at DBA Africa is rooted in our eight core academies, which serve as the heartbeat of our talent pipeline. This year, we are intensifying our fixtures and activities across all locations:
- The Rift Valley Hub: Featuring five academies (Nakuru Teachers, Gilgil, Nakuru Athletic Club, Turi, and New Life) catering to U11 through U18 talent.
- Regional Expansion: Our dedicated Lacrosse Academy in Uganda, the Western Girls U17 Academy, and our Coastal Academy.
These centers are more than just training grounds; they are gateways to exposure and life-changing experiences.
Prestigious Tournaments and Competition
We believe that growth happens in the heat of competition. This year, our athletes will vie for glory in two of our flagship events. In Nairobi, we will host the Futures Cup, a high-stakes, national grassroots rugby tournament for U15 boys and girls. Meanwhile, Rift Valley will come alive for the Kingsley Cup, an U13 boys’ tournament held in St. Andrews Turi that pits our local academies against the formidable DBA Nairobi invitational side. These are in place to support youth development.
Sport as a Force for Good
Our vision extends beyond the scoreboard. Through our "Tackle It" initiative, held in collaboration with the Barbarians Charitable Trust, we are using rugby as a tool for social intervention. This vital program is designed to address and curb gender-based violence in sport, ensuring that the field remains a safe space for everyone.
Furthermore, we are proud to continue our collaboration with the Australian High Commission. Together, we are working to uplift sporting standards across East Africa, building on last year’s successful partnerships with Kenya’s hockey clubs and Uganda’s national rugby teams.
Supporting Individual Journeys
While we celebrate our teams, we remain deeply invested in the individual. We continue to stand firmly behind Dennis Cheruiyot, supporting his personal growth and professional ventures in athletics.
This year holds limitless potential. Whether it is through elite coaching, international collaborations, or grassroots development, DBA Africa is at the forefront of the sporting revolution.
