DBA Coaches Knight Otwoma and Anne Njeri Fly Kenya’s Flag at Africa Cup
At DBA WaziWazi Rugby Academy, we believe in the power of sport to shape futures, and this week, we celebrate two of our own who are doing just that on the international stage.
Coach Knight Otwoma (U13 Boys) and Coach Anne Njeri (U11 Boys) are not only role models at our Nairobi-based rugby academy but are also proud members of the Kenya Lionesses, the national women’s rugby team. They are currently in Madagascar, representing Kenya at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup 2024, where they are chasing history, to become the first Kenyan rugby team to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.
Champions On and Off the Pitch
Both Anne and Knight coach weekly at the DBA WaziWazi Rugby Academy, inspiring boys through rugby while challenging gender norms. On the field, they are part of Kenya’s top squad. Despite a tough 12-19 loss to South Africa, the Lionesses showed heart, courage, and strength, qualities we see in our coaches every day.

Women in Sport, Leading the Way
At DBA Africa, we are proud to empower female coaches, support women in sport, and champion gender equality in rugby. Knight and Anne represent the future of African rugby, bold, skilled, and fearless. Their journey reminds us of all that rugby is for everyone, and leadership knows no gender.
They are not just coaching, they are building the next generation of players, proving that girls in rugby and women in sport belong at the top.
DBA Pride, Kenya Pride
From the sidelines in Nairobi to the stadiums in Madagascar, our hearts are with Coach Knight and Coach Anne. They show our young players what’s possible through passion, discipline, and teamwork. At DBA, we don’t just train players, we grow leaders.
