DBA Africa Celebrates The Morans Triumph and Forests MVP Performance at Zimbabwe 7s.

Rayvon "Forest" Amunga delivered a truly exceptional performance this past weekend at the Zimbabwe 7s International Rugby Tournament. Representing the Kenya Morans, Forest was a key instrumental figure in securing the overall Zambezi cup and in a highlight moment for the DBA Africa family, earning the coveted Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy, recognizing his outstanding skill and his presence as a leader on the pitch.

Forest's Impact and amazing journey

Forest’s play was electrifying, showcasing the true meaning of championship mentality. His efficiency in attack made him a constant threat, as he assisted effortlessly, scored, and converted crucial tries, continuously pushing the Morans towards victory as each game went by. This win is the powerful culmination of years of intense dedication and exposure gained through various programs he has gone through.

Forest’s journey is a profound success story for DBA Africa. After attending Kakamega’s Butula High School, he continued his development on an international stage at the England-based Bryanston School through the DBA Africa Scholarship Programme. Coupled with experience from the recent Safari 7s where he played for the Kenya Morans team (Story Here), to Shogun 7s and Kabras Sugar 7s, he has shown the value of a dedicated development path.

Forest’s exemplary performance and leadership perfectly shows one of our core pillars, Integrity and Local Leadership. His persistence and great statistics throughout the tournament speak volumes about the character and grit he has become.

The Kenya Morans' dominance was remarkable, scoring an astonishing over 200 points and averaging 40 points per game. This high-scoring campaign, showing the exciting depth within the national rugby development pathway. Playing alongside inspirational players like Shujaa's John Okoth and Dennis Abukuse, Rayvon showed incredible calm, blending in seamlessly with the team and inspiring them in his own way. This experience further solidifies his key role in the national team.

We are incredibly proud of Rayvon’s achievement and his role as an inspiration to the next generation.

Congratulations once again to Rayvon Amunga and the triumphant Kenya Morans.
