Chasing Glory

DBA Africa Returns to the Pembroke Ndume 7s

This will be our third time returning to the Pembroke Ndume 7s, and we couldn’t be more excited. Pembroke House School in Gilgil hosts this tournament, which has become the top age-grade rugby event for international schools. By welcoming community clubs and academies, the tournament now stands out as a great example of inclusivity and talent development.

With so few chances for young athletes to compete, the Ndume 7s is more than just a tournament. It’s an important opportunity. We are truly grateful to the Pembroke staff and faculty for welcoming academies like ours and giving children from all backgrounds a chance to show their skills.

The Battle Lines are Drawn

This year, our Under-13s have been working hard. They have put a lot of energy into their training sessions this rugby term, and you can really see how eager they are for the upcoming matches.

The tournament will be a great chance to see talent from both inside and outside our group. Our DBA Nairobi team will face off against five strong Nakuru-based academies that are part of DBA:

  • DBA Gilgil
  • DBA New Life
  • DBA Nakuru Athletics
  • DBA Nakuru Teachers
  • DBA Turi

Outside our own network, the competition will be tough. Our boys will play against strong teams from well-known programs like Shamas Rugby Foundation, Kings Rugby Development Academy, and others. It should be a great display of grassroots rugby.

A Legacy of Excellence

We come into this year’s tournament with a proud legacy. In past years, St. Christopher’s School, with many of our dedicated DBA academy players, won the overall tournament. On top of that, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) was chosen from our Nairobi academy.

"These milestones are a testament to what happens when opportunity meets preparation. The growth, discipline, and joy our children experience in this field are why we do what we do."

Grateful for the Team Behind the Team

Reaching these milestones is a team effort. As we prepare for another exciting tournament in Gilgil, we want to give a big thank-you to our coaches, parents, sponsors, and everyone working behind the scenes. Your hard work makes these special experiences possible for our children.
